What Russia requires

Armenia and Russia are both parties to the 1993 Minsk Convention, under which many official documents are accepted without an apostille. Russian offices still require a Russian translation, usually notarised. We confirm with the receiving office whether an apostille is needed.

How it works

  1. Check eligibility

Send a scan. We confirm the document can be apostilled in Armenia and whether a translation is needed before or after the apostille.

  2. Hand over the original

Drop it off in Yerevan, send it by courier or HayPost, or let us retrieve a new copy for you.

  3. Submission to the Ministry

We submit the document to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and collect it once the apostille is issued — typically the next working day.

  4. Translation and delivery

If required, we translate the document and the apostille, certify the translation and deliver everything in Armenia or abroad.

Frequently asked questions

Does Russia accept apostilles from Armenia?

Yes. Russia is a party to the 1961 Apostille Convention, so an apostille issued by the Armenian Ministry of Justice replaces any further legalization. For many documents, the Minsk Convention also removes the need for an apostille altogether; the receiving office decides.

Into which language should documents for Russia be translated?

Usually into Russian. The office receiving your documents may require that the translation is done or certified in Russia; we confirm this before starting.

How long does it take to prepare documents for Russia?

An apostille is usually issued within one working day, and translation takes one to two days. Consular legalization depends on the consulate's own processing time; we give you a realistic estimate with the quote.
